Future of SMF
« on: February 04, 2010, 09:08:21 AM »
Frank...at the risk of opening a can of worms (and feel free to delete and answer me privately), but what do you make of the recent "in fighting" and future of SMF. It really has me worried and now I am wondering about an alternative forum software like PHPBB or VBulletin (I don't like VBulletin though).

Should we be worried/

Wally,

From what I understand. Even though some of the main devs have split from the group. SMF will continue down its path as always. Granted it may be a bit slower them one would like in reference to SMF2 going final for the public. I have always belive that SMF is a cash cow for those invloved with it,Money talks and bullshit walks. I would not worry to much about it.

Thanks Frank...I just didn't want to be left out hanging for any of the security issues that always arise.

Thanks for the great support.

As you can already see over at SMF since the time of this post, things have calmed down quite a bit. SMF has just brought RC3 online at their site. The bickering and name-calling has ceased. Things are already getting a sense of normalcy back to them. It will all blow over.
